Benefit Cosmetics Ultra Plush Lip Gloss | Sugarbomb - Review + Swatch

Benefit Cosmetics Ultra Plush Lip Gloss | Sugarbomb, $16.00
If I were asked to pick one color that truly looked good on every skin tone, I'd pick rose gold hands down every time. The warmth of the gold and the flush of the rose pink look flattering on everything from lips, to eyes, to cheeks and is a hue that never goes out of style. I especially love wearing it on the lips as it gives an extra pow to your pout. And when it comes to bang for your buck, who better to turn to for the trends than Benefit Cosmetics when you want get high end quality on a working girl's budget.

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer - Review

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer, $28.00
Is there anything more gorgeous than sun-kissed skin? A lovely subtle tan just screams youthful fun and makes us dream of days spent lounging lazily on a white sand beach with a fruity drink in our hand. However, with the right bronzer, a healthy glow isn't just reserved for the summer hols. We can recreate that warm honeymoon hue with the flick of a brush without ever having to leave home. Lately, I've been faking that tropical vacation look with a beauty blogger darling.

Benefit Cosmetics Posietint - Review

Benefit Cosmetics Posietint, $30.00
It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of cheek stains. I love the concept, but I hate that they only seem to work well on women with flawless skin (something I sadly don't have). Setting my jealousy aside, I can't help but be drawn to beautiful pink cheek products, even if they are stains. And if they are from a trusted brand like Benefit, all the better. So despite my general misgivings towards cheek stains, I decided that it might be worth giving them another chance to change my mind.

Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Lash Mascara - Review

Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Lash Mascara, $19.00
Until this year, I was a total high-end mascara virgin. Despite not really giving me the effect I wanted, nothing could separate me from my Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. I naively assumed that high-end mascaras weren't any better than the offerings at the drugstore, and that plopping down what feels like loads of cash on a do nothing mascara was a poor financial decision. It wasn't until my curious mom picked up a tube of Diorshow that I decided that it might be interesting to dip my own toes into the high-end waters (albeit with samples to ease myself in). And considering my love for Benefit Cosmetics, I figured what better place to start?

Benefit Cosmetics Total Moisture Facial Cream - Review

Benefit Cosmetics Total Moisture Facial Cream, $42.00
I'll be totally honest. I've got super fussy skin. Not only is it both oily AND dehydrated, but it's also sensitive and acne-prone with quite a bit of redness. Needless to say, it makes finding the right skincare routine frustrating as hell. I'm especially skeptical of moisturizers as that tends to be the area of my routine where the wheels fall off. So I'm always thrilled when I come across a product that seems to cause the least amount of chaos to my already chaotic skin. And while I love Benefit for their cosmetics, they aren't exactly known for their skincare products. However, I took a flying leap of faith with today's product, and I'm actually really happy that I did.

Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Waterproof Eyeliner, $20.00
It might seem strange to say, but choosing the perfect eyeliner can be a very personal thing. Everyone wants something different from their eyeliners and need their liners to do different things. And once you find the one, it can take an act of God to buy something new. For years I've been using a Maybelline eyeliner that I love, but it is constantly smudging throughout the day. So it's back into the eyeliner waters to find a new love. If you're in a similar boat, then read on as we test out a cult classic liner from beauty fave Benefit.

While proper application is a huge factor towards having that flaw-free makeup of our dreams, it's not the only thing we can do to ensure the best results. Benefit Cosmetics That Gal Primer - Review

Benefit Cosmetics That Gal Primer, $29.00
Primers are an important first step in makeup application as they keep your slap on through all sorts of elements. But I love primers better when they can pull double duty and benefit your skin as well. Whether through the addition of SPF, supplying an extra bit of moisture, or improving your skin's luster, having a dual purpose can help cut down on the amount of products you put on your face and ensures you keep more money in your wallet. Today we'll be looking at a primer that keeps your makeup looking picture perfect all day and gives you glowing, fresh skin to boot.

Beauty Box Swap | Daphne from Subgenre of a Dream

When I first started blogging in June, Daphne from Subgenre of a Dream was one of the very first bloggers I met. We clicked immediately and spent a lot of time chatting away about life, love, and our passions for makeup, blogging and Doctor Who! After a couple of months of messaging back and forth (and working around a 12 hour time difference as she's from Taiwan), we decided to do a beauty box swap. We agreed to surprise one another, but we wanted the products to be from each other's home country or hard for the other to get in their home country.

After setting a budget we talked a little about what sorts of things we'd like to have in our boxes. Putting all of our trust in each other, we both set off to shopping, and it turned out fabulously! I was so excited when I saw the package in my mailbox, and after seeing all the goodies inside I was even more thrilled. I could not have asked for a better first swap. Here's all the lovely products I received from Daphne this fall!

Lately I've found myself not getting very much proper sleep. I'm up for hours every night, and then during the day I'm dragging all over the place. What's in My Bag? | The H&M Crossbody

Hello, lovelies! I've been seeing What's in My Bag posts making the rounds on other blogs for awhile now, and I thought they looked like so much fun. I'm a nosy person, so I love seeing what everyone carries around with them each day. In the past, I've been the type of girl to carry around large bags. I always felt like I needed to have everything I owned with me at all times. A girl can never be too prepared!

Last year on my honeymoon, my husband and I took a small drawstring backpack with us to carry all our things while we were walking around Disney World. However, it was always such a pain to get something as small as a chapstick out of the bag. It made me wish I had a small crossbody bag to keep my little bits and bobs with me.

5 Jams to Get Fit To

When it comes to fitness, nothing makes a workout more fun than having some seriously awesome tunes to pump your body to! The songs help you keep to a vigorous pace, they get your heart rate up, and can make workouts more like a dance party than a grueling annoyance. Today I'm bringing you five jams that have been fueling my workouts lately. I can't get enough of these songs, and they always make me ready to bring the heat!

Murad Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser - Review

Murad Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser, $28.00
Over the summer I had my very first facial. I had no idea what the aesthetician would say about my skin or what she'd end up having to do. After shaking off my nerves, and gritting my teeth during the extraction part, the aesthetician told me that I actually had quite good skin. I was shocked! I've struggled with cystic acne and dry, patchy skin, so I just assumed my skin was crap. Instead, I found that I had been fundamentally misunderstanding my skin and using the wrong products which is why my skin was so wacky!

e.l.f. Studio Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Review + Swatch

e.l.f. Studio Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20, $3.00
As a makeup junkie, I love wearing makeup as much as possible. However, when I'm going to be home for the day, or I only need to run out and grab some groceries, I don't like wearing a full face of products. I like to turn to handy dandy tinted moisturizers and those little complexion miracles, BB creams. Not quite ready to plunk down the cash for the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, I picked up the e.l.f. Studio Tinted Moisturizer, and unfortunately I wasn't impressed.

Skinetica Anti-Blemish Treatment, $9.95

DISCLAIMER: This post contains products sent to me for free by a brand of PR company in exchange for a review. However, all words and opinions are my own, as always.

Fighting acne got you down? Hate the feel of having to load up on multiple products to keep your skin in line? Today, I'm bringing you a review on a fabulous new product that helps to clear up your skin while also serving as a primer for your makeup. Skinetica has been making the rounds in the UK after becoming a smash hit in the October 2012 Glossybox. Needless to say, I was absolutely thrilled when Skinetica contacted me, an American blogger, about sampling their product.

For those of you not in the know, Skinetica's Anti-Blemish Treatment* is this amazing wonder product that clears acne, cuts down on future breakouts, and doubles as a primer for your makeup application, all without harsh ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. At first I thought this was a tall order for just one product, but y'all know how much I love a good double duty item. With this in mind, I was ready to test out the claims!

Beauty How-To | Irritated Skin Rescue

DISCLAIMER: This post contains products sent to me for free by a brand of PR company in exchange for a review. However, all words and opinions are firmly my own, as always.

Hello, beauties! Monday I posted a review of a fantastic face mask perfect for dry, sensitive skin. I explained that I'd had a reaction to a new product I'd tried, and my skin had been left red, raw, and irritated. While using the face mask was a large part of helping to get my skin back in shape in just a few short days, it was ultimately a part of a whole regimen. No matter how careful you are with your skin, there is always the chance that a crazy reaction can strike at any time. Here's my personal plan and tips for getting you through, and back to beautiful skin!

(DISCLAIMER: I'm not a medical expert, so if you have a severe reaction, or a rash or irritation that won't subside, skip this and go straight to a professional!  They'll know best how to get you right as rain.)

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel - Review

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Face Peels, $88.00
Hello, beauties! Happy hump day! It's time to relax a little and enjoy the first luxurious days of autumn. The days get cool, the nights get cooler, the leaves start to turn, the Halloween decorations come out, and the spooky movies start showing up all over television. It's time to pull out the hats, scarves and sweaters, and wear lovely plums, browns, and reds on our faces and fingers.

Also with the start of autumn comes changes to our skin. The cold and harsh winds can leave our faces looking dried out and lackluster. Not to mention the sudden redness! Unless I'm looking jolly-cheeked like Santa, I can do without redness, thank you very much. That's where today's product comes in!

The Starting Off Project | Blush

Hello, beauties! It's Tuesday, and that means it's time for the next installment in The Starting Off Project. We're at the halfway point of the series this week, and we're talking all about the ins and outs of blush. We'll be covering what it is, what it does, how to apply it, and which ones are worth buying!

I'm a big fan of blush, so I'm really excited about this week's topic! As a pale lady, blush helps to keep me from looking sickly, and gives my face that youthful, schoolgirl glow that makes me feel totally put together. I might not always wear eyeliner or something on the lips, but I always have a touch of blush on.
