Scented Candle Haul

scented-candle-haul, bath-and-body-works, colonial-candle, dayna-decker

Recently I've picked up a handful of candles, and I loved them so much I felt like I just needed to show them off to all of you! As you can probably tell, I'm a huge sucker for sweet, baked goods type scents, and also fresh, fragrant flowers. These candles definitely fit the bill, and I've been loving how my home smells like I've baked tasty treats and picked flowers from the garden when I haven't lifted a finger.

The Best and Worst Lip Balm Pots and Tins

best-lip-balms, worst-lip-balms, lip-balm-roundup

Hello, beauties! I hope you've all had an absolutely fab week so far!  I've been a bit under the weather, but now I'm back and I come bearing a lovely follow-up to Friday's hit round up of the best and worst lip balm sticks! So let's get to it, shall we?

I love stick type lip balms for easy on-the-go application, but when I'm at home and getting my face ready for a night out on the town, I love slathering a luscious balm from a tin onto my lips. There's just something that signals the beginning of a glorious night when I slap a little balm on to settle and moisturize while I apply the rest of my makeup.

So, I thought that after giving you a rundown of some of my least and most favorite lip balm sticks, I might do the same with my favorite pots and tins. After all, variety is the spice of life, is it not?

The Best and Worst Lip Balm Sticks

best-lip-balms, worst-lip-balms, lip-balm-review

Now, I don't know about you, but during summer and winter my lips stay unbearably chapped. No matter how much water I drink, how much I scrub, or how much lip balm I put on, it never seems to be enough. Because of that, I've been on a mission to find what I believe to be the best lip balm on the block! I've gone through tons of brands and tons of formulas, but nothing has ever quite done the trick.

However, I'm not giving up! There has to be something magical out there, right? Since I can't imagine that I'm the only one with this issue, I figured I'd do a little wrap up of the lip balm sticks I've bought lately, and let you know just how good (or bad!) I've found them to be! So let's get to it!

7 Tips for Finding Free Beauty Samples

free-beauty-samples, beauty-sample-tips

So, I have a tiny confession to make. I, Megan, am a sample addict! I get a huge rush when I see a new little sample package in the post with my name on it, or when I get up to the makeup counter at the mall and see that some are being given away! In fact, as you can see from the picture above, I have a whole box just full of the samples I've collected (and these are just small sizes as deluxe sizes are stored with the rest of my makeup).

I love being able to try a new product before I decide to buy it, or having small sizes of things that are handy for travel. With that being said, I thought other people might be wondering how they, too, could get their hands on samples of today's hottest brands. Here are seven tips and tricks you can use to build up your very own sample stash!

Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub | Original Shea, $6.59
As an unfortunate side effect of feeling under the weather, this week has been a pretty long one for me.  After three different doctor's appointments, I was in desperate need of a little pampering!  So on a recent trip to the grocery store, I popped over to the beauty aisle to have a quick peek for anything interesting that could supply a proper pick-me-up.

While looking, I came across the Tree Hut Original Shea Sugar Body Scrub.  As I've never tried a sugar scrub, I thought it might be just the thing to help get my skin back in shape after being poked, prodded, and exposed to dry doctor offices.  And at less than $7 for 18 oz., I figured I didn't have anything to lose!

Forever 21 Rose Extract Makeup Cleansing Tissues - Review

Forever 21 Rose Extract Makeup Cleansing Tissues, $2.80 for 30 wipes
When it comes to makeup or skincare, one doesn't usually think of a store like Forever 21.  Usually, anything you find in a bin near a store's checkout line is not going to be of the best quality.  Often it is just low dollar filler stuff primed to make you buy just a little bit more before leaving the store with your bank account drained!

However, like the sucker I am, I always have to take a quick look while the shoppers in front of me ring up their purchases.  On a recent shopping trip to Forever 21, I noticed these babies near the till, and since the price was right, I figured at least I wouldn't be out too much if the product sucked.  And in the end, I was pleasantly surprised!
