Coral Me Up! | Guest Post - Daphne from Daffnee.com

Coral Blushes, Summer Blushes

Hello, lovelies! I'm Daphne from Daffnee.com, and the lovely Megan here has asked me to do a guest post for her. If you've been following her for a while, you'll know Megan has a huge thing for pinks. Me on the other hand, I have a love affair with corals. So reflecting back to the Best Summer Pink Blushes guest post she did for me a while back, I decided to introduce my favorite coral blushes on her blog!

Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Pinched

Okay, so this might be more peachy than coral, but the slight orange tint in it qualifies this little beauty as a coral blush. I love using this with a stippling brush, but you can use your fingers. It's one of those blushes that give you a happy, healthy glow. Like when you see a puppy chasing it's tail, or you remember the beach from that summer in the tropics.

The only downside of this is it's quite light, so I find that as I'm starting to get a slight tan, it requires a lot of building up for the glow to show.

Tarte 12-Hour Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy

This is the most orange coral of the three, but it's amazing! This little thing was actually my introduction into coral blushes. True to its name, this blush does hold up quite well. I was wearing this over 15 hours one day a couple weekends back, and I came home to find my mascara slightly smeared, my concealer slightly faded but this, oh man, this little buddy stayed like a loyal watchdog.

The orange tint in Tipsy doesn't seem muddy on my skin and is perfect for summer. It gives a really happy and young, vibrant vibe to it. It's like going for fro-yo on a hot summer day with your best friends, or going to the park to play frisbee on a group date.

Milani Baked Blush in Corallina

As the reddest of the coral bunch,  I was quite hesitant about this color at first. I seriously cannot imagine how high quality this little gem is for a drugstore blush. Less is definitely more with this product because it's so brilliantly pigmented. I made the mistake of overloading this on my brush the first time, and I had to blend it out with a powder brush and my foundation brush. It does have specks of glitter in it that I was unsure about at first, but turns out, it just makes the flush look more amazing than I thought possible.

This color is more of a flush than the rest. It's like the first date to the zoo with the guy you've been crushing on for weeks, or the satisfaction you have after finishing your morning run (no, I don't run in the morning. I barely even have time to finish my makeup. But I assume that a morning run would be satisfying).

* * * * *

So, there you have it! My top three picks for coral blushes. I love wearing corals in the summer. The tint of orange in it just brings out a happy, healthy shade that compliments a nice tan.

    2. I wish I could properly wear corals. I'm just far too pale for it and they make me look all orange-y! But I might have to make an exception and figure out how to wear these! x

  7. What lovely blushes! I love coral colours but fear they would look too orangey on my pale complexion! I think i'd definitely side with Megan and stick to the safe pinks...

    However...

    It looks like you might have a good option for us pale and interestings there! I am wondering if this is available in the UK because I can't say i've ever spyed it in my Boots.

    1. I've heard that corals would look weird on pale ladies...pity, since the color is gorgeous. But you should definitely see if you can find Pinched. I think you can get it in the UK because either Kate from gh0stparties talked about it or some other UK blogger....can't remember. xx

    2. Yay! Another pink lover! When corals make us look orange, and reds make us look like a clown, only pinks will do! Wonder what we'd look like in lilac shades! Might have to do a little experiment and find out! x
