Skinetica Anti-Blemish Treatment, £9.95

Fighting acne got you down? Hate the feel of having to load up on multiple products to keep your skin in line? Today, I'm bringing you a review on a fabulous new product that helps to clear up your skin while also serving as a primer for your makeup. Skinetica has been making the rounds in the UK after becoming a smash hit in the October 2012 Glossybox. Needless to say, I was absolutely thrilled when Skinetica contacted me, an American blogger, about sampling their product.

For those of you not in the know, Skinetica's Anti-Blemish Treatment is this amazing wonder product that clears acne, cuts down on future breakouts, and doubles as a primer for your makeup application, all without harsh ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. At first I thought this was a tall order for just one product, but y'all know how much I love a good double duty item. With this in mind, I was ready to test out the claims!

It was lucky that my sample of Skinetica arrived at my door when it did because I was suffering from a little breakout at the time. I started applying it morning and night as directed, and within a couple of days the breakout was cleared. Usually my breakouts hang around for a week at least, but after using Skinetica the little buggers were zapped away in about three days!

I've continued to apply it each day, and so far I've had less breakouts than I usually do. It's also been great for keeping my skin in shape as it hasn't dried out my face like other acne treatments have. That's always one of my biggest peeves for acne medications is how dry your skin can get from using them, but I've had little to none of that while using Skinetica. Plus, it's got this really soothing scent. A little manly, a little medicinal, but far more tolerable than the usual herbal or sulfuric scents that typically accompany acne solutions.

Skinetica also found that after doing some trialing, people noted that their makeup stayed on better whilst wearing it. So, to test it out, I swapped my typical priming moisturizer for some everyday moisturizer that I'd had makeup issues with in the past. I definitely noticed that my makeup stayed on better with the Skinetica underneath than it had prior. Maybe not quite to the level of a standard, nothing-to-do-but-prime-makeup primer, but it did provide that extra oomph to my makeup's wearability.

My final thoughts are that Skinetica is a really fantastic product, and one of the first acne treatments I've ever used that has actually helped to keep my skin balanced without drying. It's also a great value as you get a nice sized bottle for a drugstore price making it friendly to any budget. And don't worry if you aren't in the UK. Skinetica ships worldwide if you're looking to give it a go! If you're in the market to try a new acne treatment, I recommend you give Skinetica a look.

Have you used Skinetica? What is your experience with it? What are your favorite acne treatments?

  1. This sounds like a great product! I hope you feel better!

  2. Although I don't suffer from acne I sometimes get really bad breakouts and I'll always reach for this product. I seem to notice a huge difference the morning after - I love this!
