Essie Nail Polish | Go Overboard - Review + Swatch

Essie Nail Polish | Go Overboard, $8.00
We may be settled firmly into autumn, but that's no reason to put away our brighter hues. Berry shades might be the trend in cooler months, but today's deep sea blue polish is gorgeous enough to make any girl want to buck tradition. If you're still longing for days spent sitting on the beach, then this nail lacquer might be right up your alley!

Essie Nail Polish in Go Overboard is a gorgeous dark teal with subtle green undertones. Reminiscent of the darkness of the ocean, it's a multi-faceted opaque polish that will send your heart seaside whilst still being perfect for colder autumn days. And, is it just me, or isn't it starting to stray into TARDIS territory? This could easily be the blue polish of choice for my fellow Whovians.

Go Overboard is opaque enough that one coat will absolutely do, and you won't be left with any streaks. However, I always like to build up any polish with a second coat, and two coats is what you see here. I did notice that it bubbled a bit, so be really gentle with it. Don't shake it (or any polish, really) to mix it, but instead roll it lightly between your palms to keep bubbling to a minimum.

Again, this color is the perfect shade to help you hold on to the lingering dreams of summer during the chillier fall season. Especially if you live in a warmer climate like I do where it's still in the 70s some days! Besides, the ocean is timeless, and is a great inspiration for any season, don't you think? I definitely recommend adding Essie's Go Overboard to your nail lacquer stash!

Do you have Essie's Go Overboard in your collection? What do you think is a good blue polish for autumn?
