Hello, beauties! Today I'm coming to you with a review of a product that is fast becoming a favorite. Lancôme's Hypnôse Star mascara is a beauty blogger darling, so when I saw that I could get a deluxe sample with a recent purchase, I jumped at the chance. When it comes to higher end products, I definitely love being able to try before I buy, but let me assure you that this is one mascara you can buy into the hype!

The Lancôme Hypnôse Star mascara is a gorgeously lush mascara touting a dual sided brush for maximum volume, curve, and length. It's also highly pigmented with a glossy gel-like finish for those iconic baby doll lashes a la the product's inspiration, Betty Boop!

I have tiny, pale lashes, so I'm always looking for a mascara that gives my eyelashes some oomph. The deluxe sample wand doesn't come dual sided, so I can't speak to it personally. However, I can say as the owner of short lashes, it's nice to be able to choose smaller bristles as it keeps mascara from getting all over my eyelids. This brush sounds like a short lash dream!

The gel-like formula and deep black pigmentation are stunning. My lashes go from barely noticeable to super wow factor in mere seconds! It makes your lashes look uber dark and glossy, which is perfect for stepping up your eye looks from day to night. I've also found that my lashes do look a bit thicker, especially near the base. I didn't notice any help with curl, but someone with longer lashes may fair better.

Lengthwise, Hypnôse Star does seem to add an illusion of more length, but not dramatically. For women with shorter lashes, a proper lengthening mascara would be your better bet. Wear is fantastic for the duration of a normal work day. However, there is a touch of flaking by the time you're ready to take it off at day's end. If you're going to be out all day and night, a quick touch up coat will help negate the flaking.

In the end I really like Lancôme's Hypnôse Star mascara! For me, it's a great daytime mascara as I tend to like even more dramatic mascara for night's out. I'd say that there are probably serviceable drugstore alternatives if you would rather stick to budget brands. For the glossy finish and extra black pigmentation, I'd definitely recommend giving this mascara a peek with your peepers!

Have you tried Lancôme's Hypnôse Star mascara? Any good drugstore dupes?
