Rusk Deepshine Color Care Invisible Dry Shampoo - Review

Rusk Deepshine Color Care Invisible Dry Shampoo, price varies

DISCLAIMER: This post contains products sent to me for free by a brand or PR company in exchange for a review. However, all words and opinions are firmly my own, as always.

When it comes to color care, most people believe it begins and ends with a good shampoo and conditioner. Those of us who are a little bit more hardcore about our hair might limit sun exposure or only wash with cold water (it works, y'all!). However, what about the other products we use in our hair? Do we make sure that everything from our hairspray to our mousse is formulated to protect our color? I know I haven't been. So when I got the opportunity to trial Rusk's Deepshine Color Care Invisible Dry Shampoo, I jumped at the chance. After dying my hair red, I'm excited to try anything to help prolong this notoriously fussy color!

Rusk Deepshine Color Care Invisible Dry Shampoo is just the thing to add a bit of extra protection to color-treated hair. Formulated with ChromAveil, this dry shampoo protects your tresses from harsh UV rays that can sap the color out of our dye jobs. It also sprays on invisibly, so no worries about having powder scalp! The dry shampoo itself whisks oils away to help revive your hair and prolong the time between washes, which is definitely helpful for keeping our color looking fresh.

I was already a fan of Rusk and this product is no exception to the rule. I can remember as a teenager buying their men's shine spray because I loved the heady scent and how it made my hair look. This dry shampoo has much the same masculine scent, and I love it as much now as I did then. It's warm, sensual, and absolutely incredible. After applying, my hair feels much cleaner and less oily, leaving me confident that my hair isn't a stringy mess on days I don't wash it. It also helps to create a bit of texture and grip if you want to style your hair.

As for the color protection, I've definitely noticed that my color stays more vibrant and holds better than it did prior to me using this dry shampoo. I'll be honest, if you aren't caring for your color-treated hair otherwise, this product isn't going to work miracles for you. However, if you are looking for an extra layer of protection, this is an easy product to add to your line up.

I really like this product, so I can heartily recommend it. It does all that it claims to do, and makes my hair feel and smell fantastic! The price varies depending on the point of purchase, but it tends to go for around 15 to 19 dollars. It's a touch more expensive that your average drugstore brands, but even a smaller can lasts a good while. Plus, you are paying for the quality, which is top notch! You can pick up your own Rusk Deepshine Color Care Invisible Dry Shampoo at Ulta, as well as at licensed salons in the US and Canada.

Do you use dry shampoo? What are your faves? What's your color care regimen?

  1. It is sooo hard to fine dry shampoo which leaves no colour (bar the colour specific ones which help the issue!) This sounds great xxx
