URBAN DECAY BROW BOX - REVIEW

Urban Decay, Brow Box, Eyebrows, Southern Charmed Blog Urban Decay, Brow Box, Product, Eye Brows, Southern Charmed Blog

Hello, beauties! So, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Before last year, I practically never did my brows. Oh, I'd wax here, pluck a stray hair there, but filling in my brows? No way! I'd given it a go once and felt like I looked especially cro-magnon! Needless to say, that was the end of my brow filling days for a good long while.

Then last year, my best friend, Adrienne from Late Night Nonsense, turned me onto Urban Decay's infamous Brow Box. I'd been fiddling with pencils, but powder was described to me as the true magic of brow sculpting. In a leap of faith, I bought one of these wonder kits, and I've never looked back (and my brows have never looked better! Thank you, bestie!).

Urban Decay's Brow Box, $29.00, is a handy dandy little kit boasting all the products and tools you'll need to score brows that would make even Cara Delevingne mega jels! Before we delve into the product itself, can I just say that I adore the packaging on this baby? It is perfectly compact for on the go touch ups, and the metallic purple design on the lid is so funky and livens us any vanity!

Inside, the Brow Box has two shades of powder, setting wax, a small angled brush, a small pair of tweezers, and a compact mirror. I have medium to dark hair, so I chose my Brow Box in Brown Sugar. My brows are lighter than my hair, so I tend to reach for the medium brown powder for the most part, and leave the dark powder for when I'm looking to do an especially dramatic look. The powders are ridiculously pigmented, and they stay on all day come hell or high water.

The angled brush, while small, is perfect for creating those expertly filled and shaped brows that are always on trend. Meanwhile, the tiny tweezers snatch up every last stray hair until you've tamed those bad boys into submission! I've yet to try the wax as my brows are rarely unruly, but I let my mom have a whack at it and she reported back that it kept every hair locked into place. I'd say we have a winner on our hands!

In the end, this is a product I highly recommend. I think it is the best suited for those who've got a bit of experience with shaping and filling their brows as I find powder more fussy than a pencil. I believe the price to be well justified for a superior quality product. While I've never used Benefit's Brow-Zings, I've heard that the two are comparable. So if you are looking to branch out, give this Brow Box a go!

Do you use Urban Decay's Brow Box? What products do you use to get your brows in top shape? I'd love to hear your tips on how you achieve the perfect brow!

Stay gorgeous, dahlings!

  1. I don't use the Brow Box and I probably wouldn't. I just use MAC Omega (with Benefit Gimme Brow just because I have it since my friend gave me to me so I'll just use it until it's gone lol) to fill in my brow a little bit.

    1. Is there a particular reason you wouldn't use the Brow Box? I love a really strong brow, so I enjoy having an all-in-one product that helps me achieve that! I did use MAC Espresso for awhile to do my brows, but it wasn't quite right for my brows. xx

    1. How is the ELF palette? I considered picking that up first, but I could never find it when I went to the store to buy it. It must be in popular demand! xx

  3. I should probably upgrade from my mysteriously branded 100 year old brow powder I'm fairly certain I found on the ground somewhere.

    1. Bahaha! Yeah, you might want to look into that! Any brow items that you are thinking of in particular? xx

  4. I've tried brow waxes and powders but they just don't work well in my climate (ie. Tropical/Heatwave/Bushfires/etc). I need to use pencils until I wander up to your hemisphere where it is a little cooler :)

    1. If you haven't tried this one, you might like it! The summer climate here is usually on par with Australia, if not a bit warmer, and it holds up incredibly well. I just forego the wax and substitute a bit of clear mascara if my brows are really wanting to be unruly. xx

  6. What a cute little set. I brush my eyebrows up so I can see the start of my brows and fill in from there :)

  7. So glad you purchased this box, it's one of my favourite brow products. I've made a serious dent in the darker colour and have still yet to see pan nearly a year later! I don't use the wax myself (unless I'm really having a bad brow day) but it really does set them in place like nothing else. xo
