RIMMEL LONDON MATCH PERFECTION FOUNDATION - REVIEW

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation, $5.79
Hello, beauties! I hope you've all had a fantastic week so far. One thing that signals a good week for me is knowing that my makeup game was on point. In my opinion, that begins and ends with flawless foundation application. There are so many formulas out there that miss the mark, so it is a true treat to come across one that ticks every last box, and leaves you feeling cool and confident. Especially when the product is a drugstore buy that is easy on the purse! Today we'll be looking at one such foundation that I've fallen head over heels for, and I think you will, too.

Rimmel London's Match Perfection Foundation is a little beauty I picked up on a whim. I'd been looking for a drugstore base that matches my porcelain skin and hides my imperfections, and this one had been on my beauty radar for quite awhile (and you know how fixated a girl's beauty radar can get). Touting sapphire radiance, advanced smart-tone technology, and skin protecting SPF 18, this was an easy purchase to make. After getting it home and giving it a little whirl, I might be looking at my HG high street foundation!

The first thing you'll notice is the packaging. The glass bottle gives it a much higher end feel than its budget price suggests. I will say that I was disappointed that there was no pump. A few years ago, I wouldn't have cared, and was probably applying way too much makeup as a result. However, I've become spoiled by pumps and now feel a bit let down when I come across a foundation without one. Upon opening the foundation, you'll be greeted by a gorgeously perfumed scent. I've never experienced a scented foundation before, so I found this to be a nice touch that helps set it apart from other brands. If fragrances aren't your thing, or you are sensitive to them, you'll definitely want to spend your pennies elsewhere.

The foundation itself is incredible, and I could kick myself for having waited so long to buy it! It gives gorgeous medium coverage that is easily buildable to a higher coverage. In fact, it's allowed me to forgo concealer on all except my reddest of spots. I can't tell you how nice it is to put on less products and get the same result! It doesn't cling to any of my dry patches, and it only makes my oily areas a touch oilier, which is easily remedied by applying a mattifying lotion underneath. It wears evenly, doesn't separate, and lasts a good eight hours before needing a touch up. The only negative I've found is that it looks incredibly yellow under fluorescent lights. Then again, does any foundation look good under fluorescent lights? As far as application goes, I've found that the best way to apply this particular one is with my fingers, and then going back in with a face brush to buff out any lines or harsh edges. So if you've already got this foundation and have been having trouble working with it, give that technique a go.

Overall, I'm hugely impressed with the Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation. Bases can be so hard to buy and get right, so I had been a bit skeptical. However, it has proven to be an amazing find, and one that needs to be in every woman's beauty collection! A definite must buy!

Have you tried the Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation? What is your favorite drugstore foundation?

100-happy-days-project
Hello, beauties! Unless you've been living under a social media rock, I'm sure you've seen a surge in people you follow participating in the #100HappyDays project. The premise is simple. For 100 days, document things that bring you joy in an attempt to strive for happiness in your daily life. So many people feel that happiness is an elusive creature, and the #100HappyDays project is a way to force people to see all the good things that happen around them. Small or large, each day has its victories that we can celebrate, and hopefully it changes the way we think and interact with the world.

If you've been following me awhile via the blog or social media, you'll know that this past year I've had my share of ups and downs. Last week, I had to put my beloved cat, Zoey, to sleep and it was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. That, among other things, has led me to want to find more than just illness, loss, heartache, loneliness, disappointment, and grief at every turn. I wanted to prove to myself that there is still joy, love, hope, faith, and dreams all around, and especially in my own life. With exactly 100 days until my 28th birthday, I felt that there couldn't be a better time than now to start what could be a life changing, or at least eye opening, journey.

Are you interested in starting a happiness journey of your own? Then head over to 100HappyDays.com for more information and to sign up! And if you want to see what my #100HappyDays are like, you can follow me on Instagram and Twitter. Hopefully, I'll see each of you on the adventure towards happiness soon!

MIRACLE 10 SKINCARE TRAVEL COLLECTION - REVIEW

Miracle 10 Skincare Travel Collection*, $135.00
Hello, beauties! Now, it's no secret that I'm trying to figure out a proper skincare routine. With stubborn, difficult skin and the plethora of products out there, it can be hard to figure out just what, exactly, to put on my face. Let's not even talk about deciding what should be used at night versus during the day! So when Miracle 10 contacted me asking to be friends and offering up a full, foolproof routine to try, I was down faster than you could say, "Cleansers, creams, and serums. Oh, my!". Today, I'll be introducing you to Miracle 10's Skincare Travel Collection and letting you know whether it truly puts the "miracle" in "Miracle 10"!

Miracle 10 is a Canadian boutique skincare line created by The Plastic Surgery Clinic. While that might sound a bit scary, trust me when I say that the products are anything but. Miracle 10 are fantastic at assessing skin types and setting you up with the products needed to get your skin in tip top shape within 10 weeks. I've gotten to sample the Travel Collection, and while the sizes are great for those weeks spent vacationing, I've found it is also an excellent way to get a primer on the brand and experience a regimen before plunking down a good bit of your hard earned cash. Miracle 10 breaks down skin types into three categories: Normal/Maturing, Acne-Prone/Oily, and Delicate/Dry. Each regimen consists of five products that make sorting your day and night routines a cinch. I received the Delicate/Dry collection, so let's take a closer look!

Miracle 10 Cleanser I | Full Size, $36.00:
The Miracle 10 Cleanser I is a gel cleanser packed with nutrients such as aloe, grapefruit extract, and vitamins C and E. A couple of pumps massaged onto the face gives you a light lather that leaves your skin feeling smooth and soothed. It has the lightest of scents that can only be described as slightly creamsicle-like, so it won't be an irritant to your face or nose. I found that it left my skin feeling moisturized without being oily and instantly gave me a brighter, more radiant glow in just one use, so you can imagine how fresh it made my skin over time. A definite winner!

Miracle 10 Toner | Full Size, $34.00:
Next up we have the Miracle 10 Toner which helps to correct the PH balance of your skin. Chock full of ingredients such as witch hazel for clarifying, aloe and chamomile for soothing, and hyaluronic acid for moisturizing, this toner applies well and leaves your skin smooth and even once it dries. I did find it a tad bit more drying than I would have expected, but it levels off quickly once your skin reaches balance. I even found that it helped to exfoliate a bit as my dry patches started to shift. It has a light herbal scent which I enjoy, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea. Still a worthy product, in my opinion.

Miracle 10 Light Serum | Full Size, $69.00:
The Miracle 10 Light Serum is your next step in the day routine in place of a traditional moisturizer. I have to admit, it has a strong herbal scent which is probably the worst of any product I've smelled. I really didn't like that. However, once on, the scent dissipates quickly. The serum is loaded with A, B, D3, E and K vitamins, as well as ginseng and lavender to really nourish the skin while leaving it hydrated. It does feel a bit oily at first, so if you do have any oily bits, I'd recommend not applying it there. But it does eventually sink in leaving you with a smooth finish. And if you have any dry patches left as I do, throw a bit of moisturizer or another dab of serum over those spots and you'll be good to go!

Miracle 10 AHA Cream| Full Size, $64.00:
For you night routine, the Miracle 10 AHA Cream will take the place of the light serum as your third step. Once again you have the signature herbal scent, but it's not as overpowering as the Light Serum. It also feels a bit oily when first applied, but dries down nicely. I did feel a slight burning sensation on my dry patches, but it disappeared within a few seconds and left no after effects. A little definitely goes a long way, so don't slather too much on in one go. Featuring lactic acid and vitamin E, this cream will help eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, as well as giving a gentle exfoliation to make skin smoother over time.

Miracle 10 Night Cream| Full Size, $58.00:
The Miracle 10 Night Cream is the final step in your night routine, but is optional if your skin is feeling a little weighed down already. It's quite light and moisturizing, so it makes an excellent day cream, too. However, I would recommend, once again, to not throw it over any oily spots. For me, that's my chin and around my nose. It also gave me a tingly sensation and had a strong herbal scent, but it goes away quickly leaving no traces of redness or scent behind. The Night Cream creates a silicone barrier to lock in moisture, and the hyaluronic acid contained within makes sure your skin is as hydrated as possible. Apply a couple of pumps to your face, and get ready for some true beauty sleep!

Overall, I really liked the Miracle 10 Skincare Travel Collection, and found that over time my skin looked more even, radiant, and was softer than it had been in a long while. It wasn't able to do as much for the hormonal acne that crops up on my chin, but that is something that I'm afraid will end up having to be sorted by a dermatologist. The everyday dryness and spots that I tended to get across my forehead and chin reacted far better, and for that I couldn't be happier. My skin felt hydrated without being clogged, and makeup laid gorgeously atop the foundation that this skincare regimen provided. While the set is quite pricey, if you are a skincare junkie and you haven't given this brand a look, I'd absolutely recommend that you do. It is completely lush and a great hidden gem of the skincare world!

Have you tried any products from Miracle 10? Are you a skincare junkie?

Stay gorgeous, peaches!

SCHWARZKOPF GÖT2B BEACH TRIPPIN' SALT INFUSION WAVING SPRAY - REVIEW

schwarzkopf-got2b-beach-trippin-salt-infusion-waving-spray

schwarzkopf-got2b-beach-trippin-salt-infusion-waving-spray
Schwarzkopf göt2b Beach Trippin Salt Infusion Waving Spray*, $5.99
Hello, beauties! Spring is well and truly here! Sun is out, heat is rising, and thoughts are turning towards relaxing holidays at the beach. With that comes the giddy vision of golden skin and sexy beachy waves in our hair. For those of us whose dreams of surf and sand are only as close as our favorite shore scented candles, we have to pull out other tricks to get those tousled locks. So when I got the opportunity to trial Schwarzkopf's göt2b Beach Trippin' Salt Infusion Waving Spray, I jumped at the chance to bring the beach to my vanity!

Schwarzkopf göt2b Beach Trippin' Salt Infusion Waving Spray is your standard salt spray that touts the ability to make your strands mermaid wavy (and I am always down to put a little fantasy twist on my hair). With a spritz and some calculated scrunching, you can get a salty, wind blown look in the comfort of your own home. The Beach Trippin' Salt Infusion Waving Spray also has a lush, ocean scent with a hint of sweetness to instantly transport your senses to those white sands and aqua waves. It is truly a summer's day in a bottle!

The best way to apply the Beach Trippin' Salt Infusion Waving Spray is to spritz it on damp hair, gently scrunching to get the desired amount of wave. Or you can blow dry it with a standard diffuser attachment for a more wind blown vibe. If you've got longer, thicker hair, I recommend throwing the spray in and then wrapping your hair back up in a towel or top knot until the hair dries. This helps to create better texture and volume. I should also point out that the product can be a bit heavy and greasy, so I'd avoid application to the roots unless you are hoping for grungy 90s waves (paging Eddie Vedder!). Though, it does lend itself to giving your hair fantastic grip for updos!

I think this is a great bargain spray and you get quite a bit of product for your cash. Also, unlike the LUSH Cosmetics Sea Spray Hair Mist, there is no gel component, so you are left with nothing except the natural, non-crunchy waves you're looking for. It will be a nice addition to your warm weather hair routine, and will leave your friends wondering what tropical island you jetted off to! The Schwarzkopf göt2b Beach Trippin' Salt Infusion Waving Spray is available at participating Walmart, Walgreens, ULTA, and food retailers nationwide.

Have you tried the Schwarzkopf göt2b Beach Trippin' Salt Infusion Waving Spray? What do you use to create beachy waves?

Stay gorgeous, peaches!
