Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Acne Scrub - Review

Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Acne Scrub, $8.99
Hello, beauties! For many of us, hitting our twenties means aging out of the dreaded teenage acne. However, for others of us, our acne only doubles down as we get older. The good news is not all hope is lost! These days there are loads of over the counter treatments to help us keep those pesky spots at bay and our skin clear. Today, we'll be taking a look at a face scrub from Clearasil that claims to have our skin looking better in 12 hours flat!

The Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Acne Scrub is a medicated treatment meant to be used twice daily. With two different sized granules, this scrub helps to clear away pore clogging dead skin, making it easier to deposit the medication directly where it's needed most. As with many acne treatments, the active ingredient is 2% salicylic acid which could be a bit harsh for sensitive skin. This scrub also boasts clearer skin within 12 hours of use.

As far as over the counter acne treatments are concerned, I'd say this one works quite well. I've definitely seen a marked improvement in my skin.  Not only are my breakouts shorter, as well as fewer and farther between, but I suffer from less dry patches, too. However, I do think that the 12 hour claim can be a bit overblown. For smaller spots, I'd definitely say that you see an improvement in 12 hours, but for larger ones I feel like it still takes a day or two to really see the results.

If you're looking to get your light to moderate acne under control, I'd absolutely recommend giving this scrub a go. Be warned that if you have hormonal acne that this won't be a miracle worker. I have hormonal acne on my chin and this only shortens the duration of breakouts at best. But the rest of my face stays far clearer now thanks to this product, which is a positive. I would also note that if you have sensitive skin that this could potentially be irritating to your skin. I had reactions the first two times I used the product while my skin attempted to adjust, but it was worth it to stick through those adjustment pains. Overall, it's a fantastic product, and one I'll be repurchasing in the future!

Have you tried the Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Acne Scrub? What is your favorite product for fighting spots?

Stay gorgeous, peaches!
