With the holidays firmly behind us now, it can be easy to forget that winter has only just begun. Jumping into the new year encourages us to begin to look forward to the coming of spring, full of it's gorgeous, bright hues. However, the reality is that we have several frozen months ahead of us before we can get there, so it's not the time quite yet to pack away our vampiest shades. One such vampy lipstick that I've been obsessively reaching for this winter is Kat Von D's Studded Kiss Lipstick in Thin Lizzy, and I'll admit that when spring does finally roll around it will be painfully hard to part with this stunner.

Thin Lizzy is described as a "sparkling brick copper", but I'd place it more in the category of a deep, rusted red. Full of gold and copper shimmer, Thin Lizzy is the perfect lippy to add a bit of pizzazz to your winter makeup whilst still being bang on trend. And with it's matte finish, this lipstick is gorgeously grown up compared to the chunky glitter lipsticks we coveted as kids in the 90s. The shimmer is subtle, not overbearing, and gives the glorious illusion of fuller lips. Who doesn't love that?

Many people complain about how uncomfortable the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipsticks are on the lips, but I personally find that these matte lipsticks are quite tolerable in comparison to others on the market (ahem, MAC's Ruby Woo). And there is no added grittiness from the glitter which is a definite check in the plus column, as well. These aren't very creamy, so they can tug at the lips a bit when applying, but I don't find it horribly daunting to slap this on. And it lasts for ages with only minimal touch ups throughout the day, which is perfect for a fuss-free woman on-the-go. However, I definitely recommend you exfoliate and moisturize first to ensure patch-free application and even wear.

I am absolutely besotted by this lipstick, and wore it all through the holidays as my go-to hue. It is perfect for fair-skinned ladies like myself, and it adds a touch of glam to my look without being garish. I don't think I've ever loved a lipstick so much! If you haven't dipped your toes into the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick collection, Thin Lizzy is without a doubt where you should start. Maybe it will spark your obsession with Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipsticks like it did for me. J'adore!

Have you tried the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Thin Lizzy? What is your go-to red lipstick for winter?

  3. I enjoy MAC's Ruby Woo, it is one of my favorites. But... it is a pain and very high maintenance. Any who. This Kate Von D lipstick looks so good! The packaging is gorgeous and so is the actual product. I love it.
